The Job Market
Millions are spent every year on advertising jobs on various media. One is spoilt for choice in terms of what medium to advertise in. However, none of these media can claim they capture all the relevant targets for a particular job. When this fails, one ends up using recruitment firms to speed up a hiring process that is possibly going nowhere and very often the process is much less efficient than what it could be. Why?
If a person is looking actively for a job, he is prepared to make a considerable effort in assuring himself the best chance of interviewing. This includes sending cvs speculatively directly or through recruitment firms. In addition the internet and the media whilst accessing a very wide range of clients rarely have in-built screening tools. This makes the life of employers difficult with many irrelevant applications being received amongst the few relevant ones and the average quality of applicant is not so high. To date the internet has been very successful in commoditised positions. However what if it were to be used also as a pro-active tool for candidates to receive updated information on current openings that fit precisely what they would consider?
The Concept
We have come up with a solution that aims to simplify everyone's life by devising a tool that is cheaper, more focused and more effective than any other recruitment media currently available. It will, however, only be as successful as the response it will receive.
Any candidates applying will only apply depending on the quality of companies using the tool, meaning that by offering this tool for free we are aiming to attract especially all the bulge bracket cost conscious firms all under one roof in order to ensure they can all provide the market with a global company job market place that allows all oil and gas industry players access to a structured and unified tool.
The Cost
So how much will it cost?
The answer is simple. As a candidate, nothing. As a client, this depends on the level of service you wish to have. The platform will be offered to all free of charge as long as information provided is complete. Clients will have the facility to advertise with or without identifying themselves, provided we can confirm their credentials. In addition, all applicants will be pre-screened prior to them actually receiving access to the adverts. This will ensure that candidates will only be matched to client's specific requests. Candidates will have to submit their cv. and contact information plus basic information that will pigeon hole their profile and allow them eventually to view jobs and apply for them.
The Model
The question that beckons is, "if it's free what's in it for GlobalPetroJobs?". We are offering different levels of added value service that aim to assist the Hiring managers in their role. The most basic of services, which also comes at no charge, is a pre-screening of candidates prior to allowing access to viewing active / current openings. Further levels of service include the co-coordinating of meetings, conducting of technical interviews as required as well as the short listing of applicants according to job criteria and role specifications. We can also provide a service whereby we will get feedback and act as intermediaries throughout the entire process. Obviously this will be at a reasonable cost.
We could also provide candidates who would prefer representation of a recruitment consultant the service, provided you wish to offer applicants that option. Clearly all this will cost considerably less than a normal recruitment fee a head-hunter would charge and will allow access to premium candidates.
We will also offer two further service levels which will give your job adverts more access. Our in-house recruiters will proactively contact registered candidates that are open to opportunities in order to describe the position and assess their interest for the particular opening. Here the payment will be contingent on our performance, i.e. we will be paid a fee equivalent to 5% of the first year's compensation with a minimum fee of €5,000 in the event a specific candidate we contact is placed.
The highest level service will be the full head hunter service, whereby we would seek to identify individuals not registered on the system that could have an interest in the available position. This would be done using our appointed partners and will be charged at a standard market rate of 25%.
As we progress we intend to offer every member company an in-house recruitment tool which could also allow them to streamline their recruitment process. This tool will be at a charge but could allow the seamless integration into the company website for HR, line managers and external advertisement, allowing the company to also accept candidates introduced from third parties.
